Meet the Director

My name is Kate and I am the Centre Director here at Maffra Little Saints. I have been working within the early childhood sector for 13 years and hold my Advanced Diploma. Over the years, I have worked in many roles starting out as an Assistant Educator in a nursery room, before getting my Diploma in Early Education and becoming a Lead Educator. After a few years of leading classrooms, I realised my passion was to mentor, and I became an Educational Leader/Assistant Director and moved across a few services to support educators in achieving goals.

I moved to Gippsland in 2022 and joined the Little Saints team. I think it is important to see young children thrive in learning environments that are safe, nurturing and most importantly fun! Being a mum myself, I understand the importance of the connection young children have with their educators and how it impacts their learning and development. Having these connections makes for smoother transitions and genuine relationships not only for the children, but also the families.

Located in the quiet community of Maffra, this gorgeous service has magnificently landscaped yards and beautiful light filled classrooms and is within walking distance to the town centre. 104 placements available for families over 6 classrooms, each with a dedicated learning team of qualified educators ready to engage children in play based learning through simultaneous indoor/outdoor play.

Educators provide children with calm and nurturing environments that stimulate their imagination and promote their innate ability to learn through the world around them, providing resources both new and recycled, taking opportunities to build on the thoughts and ideas of every child. The curriculum is led by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, in the kindergarten and long day care classrooms.
