Meet the Director

Hello, my name is Charissa, and I have been in the Early Childhood sector for 20 years.

However, I started my journey before that, when I was babysitting a family in high school.

I joined Little Saints Early Learning Centre in May 2024, at our Princes Way service. I was given the opportunity to come and support Moe as a secondment while Kayla is on maternity leave.

A little about me: I am a mum of 3, 2 boys and a girl. I love going camping, cooking, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.

My approach to early education is a mix of many different theories.

I nurture children's curiosity by giving them a choice to choose from things like the experiences they wish to engage in and the environment they wish to play in, and provide flexibility for them to continue to grow and learn, However, children also thrive with structure and routine,e which I also provide for them. I support children to play and learn as they navigate their world through trial and error while still providing positive feedback where needed. I provide children time to play with minimal interruption. Children need to know that they are safe, cared for, and secure and that they belong to the world they live in as well as their world while in care. I believe in building strong relationships with children and families as well as the team I work with.

This gorgeous light filled service on Sutton Street, is beautifully designed and resourced to be the perfect environment for children’s learning and exploration. With 6 generous sized classrooms accommodating 116 children that includes 3 & 4 year old kindergarten and educational programs for children starting at 6 weeks of age.

With amazing natural landscaped outdoor environments each program promotes children’s choice accessing simultaneous indoor and outdoor learning throughout the day. Educators develop their programs in line with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and strive for each experience to enhance children’s development and interests.

Two onsite cooks provide children with fresh and healthy meals to meet their nutritional needs and expose their taste buds to new and exciting flavours.
